Formula One racing champion Lewis Hamilton slammed a New Zealand casino for treating him 'like dirt' but the scathing review may have arisen from a misunderstanding of local gambling rules.
The 31-year-old, who travelled to Auckland ahead of this weekend's Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, Australia, posted an unfavourable review of Sky City Casino to his 3.2 million followers after touching down in New Zealand's North Island on Monday.
'Don't ever go to the sky city casino in Auckland, they treated me like dirt. Can't believe how rude they were. Worst casino experience ever!' Hamilton wrote late on Monday night.
While the British racing superstar - who has thrice won Formula One World Championship - deleted the tweet soon after without commenting further on the circumstances surrounding the angry review, there has been speculation his angst arose after staff asked him to follow casino rules.
